From Drawing to Door: How CNC Machining Is Changing Custom Woodwork

18 January 2026 · 5 min read · By Sine Wave Workshop

Twenty years ago a decorative door panel meant weeks of hand-carving. Today, a digital drawing can become a finished panel in an afternoon. At the heart of our workshop is a 1325 CNC router with a vacuum table and dust collection.

What can a CNC do?

  • 2D engraving and profiling for door grooves, nameplates and partitions.
  • V-carving for calligraphy, logos and crisp decorative lines.
  • 3D relief carving for wall art and sculptural panels.
  • Nested cutting for kitchens and wardrobes, minimising waste.

Why precision matters

In cabinetry, a 1 mm error multiplies across dozens of parts. CNC cutting delivers repeatability so doors line up, drawers glide and hinges bore perfectly.

Custom design without custom prices

Because designs are digital, repeating a pattern across ten doors costs little more than one. That is how we offer CNC doors and partitions at accessible rates — and it is why architects love working with us on projects.
